Influence Of Trapezoidal Shear Keys On The Mechanical Properties Of PVC Foam Cored Sandwich Composit

This work aims to provide an innovative method of fabricating PVC foam cored sandwich composite structure with trapezoidal shear keys. Researchers have developed sandwich composites with only semicircular shear keys for increasing the mechanical properties of composite sandwich panels. This novel mechanism of increasing the performance of sandwich composite structure is based on introduction of trapezoidal shear keys in the PVC foam core and fabricating the thin composite by hand lay-up method. The various experiments and investigations results also demonstrated in this manuscript to reveal the potential ability of the proposed cost effective methodology which can be used to analyze the sandwich composite structure.
